Submission Guidelines

We care a great deal about the quality of our directory. In order to ensure the smooth running of the BusinessSeek.biz directory, we may have to delete submissions that violate these policies or that we believe otherwise disrupt the operation of the directory. Please only submit a URL to the BusinessSeek.biz directory once. If a site has not been listed within one week, you may resubmit.

Unacceptable Sites & Content

Examples of unacceptable web sites include, but are not limited to:

1. No adult sites or adult related content.
2. No sites under construction.
3. No sites with broken links & missing images.
4. No racism or vulgarity.
5. No illegal sites including copyright infringement, plagiarism, violence, fraud & child pornography.
6. No sites promoting animal cruelty.
7. Do not submit mirror sites with the same or similar content, but different URL's - this will result in the deletion of both sites.
8. Do not submit sub domains (without a very good reason) - use your top-level domain.
9. Do not disguise your web site address - for example:
   www.BusinessSeek.biz & www.BusinessSeek.biz/index.html - this will result in the deletion of both URL's.
10. Only sites with English content will be accepted into the directory.
11. A site submitted to an inappropriate category shall not be added.
12. Affiliate web sites may be submitted to the Small Business category only. You may also suggest a new sub category if necessary.
13. Affiliate programs may be submitted to the directory under Small Business >> Affiliate Programs only. In addition only one listing per affiliate program is accepted. To ensure the program you wish to submit has not been entered into the directory by another affiliate, please use the URL checker below.
14. Sites with a single popup / pop under (not both) may or may not be listed at the sole discretion of BusinessSeek.biz
15. Sites with more than one popup / pop under will not be listed.

Prior Submission Check

Before submitting to the BusinessSeek.biz directory check to see if your site is already listed.

Checking For A Web Site Listing

1. The best way of doing this is to use our URL checking tool in the search engine.
   If you're checking for http://www.BusinessSeek.biz/
   Type the web site domain name into the search box, for example:
   BusinessSeek.biz
   MyWebsite.com

How To Submit

To submit a site to the BusinessSeek.biz directory navigate to the category where you would like your site listed. If your category is not listed in the directory go to the closest category describing your web site. Then follow the "Submit A Site" link. On the site submission page suggest a new category & subcategory if necessary. Fill in all the required details in the form & click the "Submit" button.

If your site is already listed in the directory, but not in the search engine click here, otherwise continue with the directory submission. You will be provided with an opportunity to submit to the search engine during this process. Please note, the search engine will crawl your web site immediately and requires ALL meta tags (title & description - keywords are optional, but do make a major difference during searches). However, directory submissions do NOT require any meta tags.

Note: Please do NOT email your submissions, as these cannot be added manually due to time constraints. Submitting your listing directly to the correct category is the fastest way to be entered into the directory.

The Submission Form

1. Title: The web site title must reflect the title of your web site as it appears on your homepage.
2. Description: This is displayed when a listing is viewed or searched for. Describe what your site offers in terms of products or services. Also include your location (town, city, country) if this is pertinent to your business. A useful description will be far more beneficial in attracting potential visitors / customers - resulting in more traffic. A carefully written description does have its benefits.
3. Detailed Entry: This is displayed when a user clicks on the "Details" link. This is where to explain more about your company (up to 1000 characters). Also a VERY useful tool in increasing your visibility in our search engine!
4. Email: Only sites providing a valid email address will be accepted into the directory. If you use a spam blocker you may not receive your validation email - in which case your site will not be added to the directory. We do not sell, give away or spam your email address. Email addresses are used for confirmation & notification of the successful addition of your listing.

Listing Format

1. Title: Capitalize the First Letter of Each Word Only
2. Description: Capitalize only the first letter in each new sentence. Exceptions to this rule are Brand Names & Abbreviations (which maybe Capitalized where required). Please do NOT repeat the Company Name in the Description if used in the Title.
3. Detailed Entry: Here you may explain more about your company, products & services. It is not necessary to include any part of the description here, as this will be displayed along with your further information. The Company Name CAN be repeated in the Detailed Entry. Please do not list keywords here. Incorporating keywords in good grammatical sentences is welcomed and will more than likely result in good rankings on top search engines.
   Editing The Detailed Entry Text Area: This is a simple process. Pressing the return key once provides a line break, twice creates a new paragraph. To write an entire paragraph do not press the return key until a new paragraph or line break is required.

Reasons Why Submissions Are Not Approved

1. Only submit top level domains - subdomains are not accepted.
2. Inappropriate CAPITALIZATI0N of words.
3. Referencing another website / URL in the description or title different to the one being submitted.
4. Your description and or detailed entry consists mainly of keywords.
5. Copying & pasting the description into the detailed entry text area. This section is intended to provide further information about your company.
6. Excessive or incorrect punctuation.
7. Exclamation marks in the title.
8. Repeated & excessive use of exclamation marks in the description, for example !!!!, or here's! another! example!
9. These punctuation rules apply to all other punctuation if used inappropriately or incorrectly.
10. Words such as "cool, hottest, best (best in the world), unbeatable, ultimate, top, largest, your only source" & other such terms of similar meaning.
11. The description should be at least 10 words in length.
12. Including things which are subject to change without notice and thus be incorrect when a visitor arrives at a website, for example: product/shipping pricing or number of products.
13. See the note on popups / pop unders above.
14. Excessive opening of new windows when browsing.
15. Submissions via email are not accepted.

The Decision For Inclusion

Ultimately the decision for inclusion or exclusion lies with the submissions editor at BusinessSeek.biz - who has been known to be fair - occasionally! Our aim is to provide our visitors with a resource of useful sites, therefore we do not include such sites that are under construction or of little content value for that reason.

Can I Resubmit My Web Site?

1. In short, Yes.
2. If your new submission meets these guidelines we will by all means reconsider your listing.
3. This does not guarantee inclusion.
4. The good news is that we are fair & will not reject any site unnecessarily.

Note: Submissions with missing data (this can occur when copying & pasting) cannot be edited in the directory as they do not exist. Please ensure your details are 100% correct as omissions cannot be corrected without resubmitting your details over again. This also applies to submissions which do not meet our guidelines above. Once a listing has been approved & is visible in the directory it can be edited at any time.
