"PINO PASCALI"
At Castel
Sant'Elmo opens an exhibition dedicated to Pino Pascali (1935-1968),
curated by Angela Tecce, Achille Bonito Oliva and Livia Velani.
So, it is possible to see 40 works of this artist, about 1964
and 1968; the 1968, in fact, is the year in which Pascali dead
in a road accident. Now, Pino Pascali is an important figure because
he tells to us present-day themes as: wars, arms, violence, destructions
and his works are make with intelligence and cunning. The secrets
of his works are: irony, the skill to speak without rhetoric,
the strong sense of politic denunciation, the game and his private
world. It is impossible to forget the sea, that is the big theme
of his sculptures-installations, that become the memory of his
land, and unforgettable are his linguistic games with the title
of his works, for example: "Bachi da setola". This exhbition belongs
at the "Annali delle Arti" and shows the masterpieces of Pascali
as:"Gravida o maternità", "Cannone. Bella ciao", "Il dinosauro
riposa", "1 mc di terra e 2 mc di terra", "Vedova blu" and "Ponte".
