DEVANNEY & O'NEILL CROWNED LAKELAND CHAMPIONS....

It has been another action packed week on the angling front here in the Midlands. Visiting anglers Terry Smyth of B.B.C sports " Northern Ireland " and his father in law, 86 year old retired clergyman Andy Todd had a super days fishing on Lough Lene. That was on Thursday 30th September, which sees Lough Lene close for trout Fishing till next season. Then on Saturday night, Derravaragh anglers held their annual dinner & social night in An Tintain Restaurant Multyfarnham. On Sunday, Lakeland Anglers held their end of season competition on Owel, Derravaragh , & Ennell. While all this was happening the heavens opened and most lakes and rivers are starting to rise, all except Lough Owel which is still very low. It makes you wonder is Lough Owel able to cope with the demand of water needed in the Mullingar area.
