Welcome to Belvedere Palace [ Schloss Belvedere ]
On a rise overlooking the city, this Baroque-era palace is one of the showpieces of Vienna. It consists of two separate buildings, one at the foot of the hill and the other at the top. The Upper Belvedere (Oberes Belvedere) houses a gallery of 19th- and 20th-century Viennese art, featuring works by Klimt (including his world-famous painting ‘The Kiss’), Kokoschka, Schiele, Waldmuller, and Makart; the Lower Belvedere (Unteren Belvedere) has a Baroque museum together with exhibits of Austrian art of the Middle Ages.
