(September 27, 2004) - Casey Mears will pilot a pink No. 41 Dodge for three NASCAR Nextel Cup races in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The races will include Talladega, Kansas City and Martinsville.
(September 17, 2004) - Kevin Harvick will drive another Hershey's special paint scheme in February's Busch race at Daytona. Harvick will promote "Hershey's Take Five" which offers a unique combination of five of America's favorite snack ingredients: carmel, peanut butter, peanuts, pretzels and chocolate.
(September 13, 2004) - (Non-NASCAR) Tony Stewart and Danny Lasoski will both race midget cars in this coming January's annual Chili Bowl with sponsorship from Bass Pro Shops. Stewart's car will be red and yellow and Lasoski's will have a green and yellow paint scheme. Both cars will also carry the Bass Pro Shops logo.
(September 9, 2004) - Jeff Green will drive a Chex Party Mix paint scheme at Homestead in November. The car will be primarily Petty blue and feature the "Make Chex Mix" logo on the hood and pieces of Chex on the sides.
(September 2, 2004) - Elliott Sadler will return in the Combos car at Charlotte in October. This is the first an only race of the season for this paint scheme. The last time Sadler ran this car was in the 2003 Sharpie 500 at Bristol.
(August 29, 2004) - Ward Burton will carry a special paint scheme at Californa that will feature NBC's popular show "Fear Factor." The car will sport orange, black and yellow colors with flames. Burton's sponsor, NetZero, is the sponsor of the timeclock used for stunts and challenges on the show.
(August 26, 2004) - Kenny Wallace will have a "Operation Marathon" special paint scheme on the Nextel Cup No. 00 Aaron's Chevrolet at Homestead-Miami Speedway to promote Michael Waltrip's effort to run the 39th Annual Las Vegas Marathon. Waltrip, who is running the race to benefit The Victory Junction Gang, will also run the special scheme in the Busch race on his No. 99 Aaron's Chevy.
(August 18, 2004) - Bill Elliott will return at California and Atlanta driving the No. 98 Dodge with the familiar McDonald's colors. The special paint scheme will feature the McDonald's logo and colors as well as their "I'm Lovin' It" logo. Elliott owned and drove a McDonalds sponsored Ford (No. 94) in the late 90's for several seasons before moving to Evernham Motorsports.
(August 11, 2004) - Michael Waltrip will team up Domino's pizza in the Busch Series for a special paint scheme at Memphis Motorsports Park in October. The car will also feature St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which is Domino's "charity of choice".
(August 3, 2004) - Dale Earnhardt Jr. will race a Major League Baseball World Series/Budweiser paint scheme at a TBA race in October. One of Junior's famous paint schemes was the 2001 MLB All-Star paint scheme that he drove to victory at Daytona the same year of his father's death.
(July 21, 2004) - Rusty Wallace will drive a 'reverse' Duraflame paint scheme on the No. 66 Dodge in the Busch Series at Michigan and Phoenix.
(July 15, 2004) – Kasey Kahne will race a special paint scheme at Darlington in November that will resemble his red pit cap with the white racing stripes. The scheme will include the Dodge logo and the two racing stripes along the length of the car.
(July 12, 2004) – Greg Biffle's No. 16 will feature a black & white camo scheme at California in the Pop Secret 500.
(July 11, 2004) – Both Terry Labonte and Ricky Craven will promote Walt Disney and Pixar Animation's new movie "The Incredibles" with special paint schemes at Phoenix.
(June 26, 2004) – Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will run a Dave Matthews Band paint scheme in the Pop Secret 500 at California Speedway. Also, Brian Vickers and Michael Waltrip have been added to the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 special paint scheme program at Richmond in September. Lenny Kravitz will ride with Vickers in the Cup race, and Country artist LeAnn Rimes will be on Waltrip's Busch car in the Emerson 250. Both cars will feature the Chevy Rock and Roll logo, as well as images of the artist.
(June 17, 2004) - Tony Stewart will run a Olympic paint Scheme at Michigan in August to commemorate the 2004 games in Athens. The paint scheme will look similar to the black reverse scheme that was featured at Richmond earlier this season, but will feature more white where the black was on the car. The scheme will include the olympic logos and athletes. Also announced - Jimmie Johnson will help promote Lowe's new Tool World centers by running a special paint scheme at California in September.
(June 10, 2004) - Bill Elliott plans to return to Indy, the site of his 43rd career win, driving a Dodge sponsored by Visteon. Also announced Jamie McMurray will run another special Texaco/Havoline retro paint scheme at Talladega in October to celebrate the life of Davey Allison and the 2004 Talladega-Texaco Walk of Fame. Finally, at the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond - Kevin Harvick (Cup), Matt Crafton (Truck) and Ron Hornaday (Busch) will drive KISS paint schemes.
(June 1, 2004) - Bill Elliott (No. 98?), John Andretti, Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Jeff Burton and Ricky Rudd will help promote Coca-Cola's new C2 soft drink with different red and black paint schemes at the Pepsi 400 in July.
(May 20 2004)- Jeff Gordon, Brendan Gaughan, Scott Riggs and Elliott Sadler are scheduled to run "The Wizard of Oz" 65th Anniversary paint schemes at Kansas in October. Dorothy's dog Toto will replace the Pedigree dog on the No. 38, while Jeff Gordon will sport a rainbow colored car featuring the Cowardly Lion.
(May 14, 2004) - Kasey Kahne and Ward Burton will make a splash this summer as they will promote DreamWorks' new movie "Shark Tales." Kahne is scheduled to run the "Shark Tales" scheme at Michigan, Bristol, California and Kansas in the Busch Series, while Burton will have the new animated full-length film on his No. 0 Chevrolet at Talladega.
(May 13, 2004) - Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch will have SpongeBob the Movie on their cars in the Busch event at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October. Casey Mears will have SpongeBob on his No. 41 Dodge in the Cup event. Also in October, Kasey Kahne, Jeremy Mayfield, Dave Blaney, Michael Waltrip and Kenny Wallace will have MAD Magazine special paint schemes at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
(May 11, 2004) – Mark Martin will run a Viagra Value Card special paint scheme this weekend at Richmond. Martin's No. 6 Ford will feature the 'reverse' paint scheme that features more of a white color at all eight remaining night races this season. However, the Richmond car will also highlight Viagra's Value Card program that offers men a convenient way to get a free Viagra prescription every time they fill six eligible prescriptions.
(May 6, 2004) – Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick will drive McDonald's Drive-Thru Pit Championship fueled by POWERade special paint schemes in the October Atlanta Busch race. Stewart will drive the No. 92 McDonald's machine and Harvick will pilot the No. 29 POWERade Chevy. Both Stewart and Harvick's pit crew teams will go against each other for a special bonus prize.
(May 3, 2004) - Kyle Petty will have Dixie's Krazy Kritters on his No. 45 Dodge at the Nextel All-Star Challenge in May. The Kritters consist of Clawed the bear, Blaze the turtle, Ellie the giraffe, Dunc the hippo, Bonkers the monkey and Munch the Panda. The kritter gang are featured on kids plates, bowls, cups, napkins and cutlery.

(April 23, 2004) - In October, Hendrick Motorsports will celebrate its 20th anniversary at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Each Hendrick car will feature a "silver on silver" paint palette, giving them a platinum/chrome effect. Also every car will carry the Hendrick Motorsports commemorative 20th Anniversary logo. Sterling Marlin will run a special scheme at Pocono in August to help promote the company's new low-carb beer. Michael Waltrip and Martin Truex Jr. will run two new schemes in the Busch Series this season. Best Western will be on Waltrip's No. 99 at Phoenix and Truex will have sponsorship from Wrangler Jeans at Pikes Peak and at Darlington.
(April 19, 2004) – Bill Elliott will return to the Busch Series driving a No. 09 Elvis themed paint scheme at Memphis in October. The car will feature the 50 Year's of Rock & Roll" logo and his first hit that started it all, "That's All Right."
(April 8, 2004) – Elliott Sadler will celebrate Independence Day on July 3rd at Daytona with a 4th of July special paint scheme on the M&M;'S Ford.
(April 1, 2004) – Rusty Wallace is scheduled to run a Kodak paint scheme on his No. 2 Dodge at Watkins Glen in August, marking the first time Wallace will drive with another sponsor since he has been with the Miller Brewing Company. Kodak's main headquarters are located in Rochester, N.Y., and this opportunity now gives them more exposure on the track along with Wallace's teammate Brendan Gaughan, who is also sponsored by Kodak.
(March 24, 2004) – Spiderman will return once again to NASCAR Racing with driver Terry Labonte this season. Labonte will have the amazing web-crawler on his No. 5 Cheez-It car for the Pepsi 400 at Daytona in July. Past drivers that have had Spiderman along for the ride included Robby Gordon, Bill Elliott, Casey Atwood and Lyndon Amick in the Busch Series.
(March 23, 2004) - Joe Nemechek will race a GI Joe 40th Anniversary U.S. Army paint scheme at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October. This is not the first time GI Joe will be on a stock car. In 1997, Kenny Irwin had a GI Joe paint scheme on his No. 27 Ford. Another paint scheme that was announced is that Ricky Rudd will run the colors made famous by David Pearson in the 1970’s to promote the new "Keep It Genuine" campaign for Ford/Lincoln Mercury Parts at Texas in April.
(March 11, 2004) - Rusty Wallace will kick off the new "President of Beers" Miller campaign at California in May with a special paint scheme. The No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge will feature a red, white and blue patriotic look and the slogan on the car will say, "Vote Miller for President of Beers…Good Call." It was also announced that Kurt Busch will run red and black 40th Anniversary Sharpie car at both Bristol events in 2004. Finally, Michael Waltrip, Dale Jr. and Kerry Earnhardt are latest entries for the "Happy Father's Day" program at Michigan in June where each driver will replace his name on the car with his father's. The hoods on each car will also say "Thanks Dad." If one of the participating drivers wins, the driver will be able to give a gift of $25,000 to his Dad or charity of his choice in Victory Lane.
(March 8, 2004) - Cartoon Network's The Justice League will join forces with Roush Racing and Woods Brothers Racing and Ryan Newman for a special promotion at the GFS Marketplace 400 at Michigan International Speedway in August. Some of the characters that will appear on some of the cars, both in Busch and Cup, are Batman, Superman, The Flash and Wonder Woman (See Below). The official Justice League announcement is slated for April 21. Brendan Gaughan will also have another comic character paint scheme, The Punisher, at Bristol Motor Speedway in the spring to promote the movie that will debut in April. Other past Superhero/Comic promotions in the past have included The Hulk (Bobby Labonte), Superman (Jeff Gordon) and Batman (Dale Jarrett) Vs. The Joker (Kenny Irwin). Bill Elliott also raced the Batman Forever "ThunderBat" McDonald's paint scheme in 1995.
(March 3, 2004) - In October for RCR's 35th Anniversary each RCR Cup car will look like one of Childress' cars from the past. Kevin Harvick’s No. 29 will resemble the Wrangler car, Robby Gordon's Cingular Chevy will look like Earmhardt's "Quicksilver" Goodwrench car and Johnny Sauter will sport the colors of the Piedmont car on the No. 30. The Busch Series cars will also carry the 35th Anniversary logo.
