2004 PROGRAM OF WORK

MISSION

To promote business development in the Charlotte East region by promoting education, information and leadership growth and image enhancement. To serve as an information source to the members about the developments and policy issues facing the east area of Charlotte.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Business Showcase 2002 gross income of over $20,000. Attendance 1,000. Conducted a Familiarization Tour of the East Area.

GOALS

1. Membership

· Improve participation and attendance

· Each new member will be contacted by PR officer to be invited to luncheons and participate on committees

· Visitors to be met and introduced by Connectors

· Send card back to visitors inviting them back and add to fax or email list

· Telephone Survey

· Improve speaker quality/selection to improve attendance

2. Program Goals

· Replenish nurses kits

· Continue teacher appreciation for targeted East Side schools

· Strengthen our relationships with East area political leaders and keep them informed of our work and involved

3. Fundraising Goals

· Business Showcase

· Solicit stakeholders for sponsorships

4. Public Policy

· Continue to support the East Area Plan (mall, transit, re-development)

· Assist/support branding of East Side

· More community issue updates and meetings

5. Stakeholder

· By December 31, 2003, identify 15-20 of the top stakeholders on the East side

· In January 2004, send introductory letters

· In teams of two, have individual meetings to sell our involvement

6. Sponsorship

· Re-examine sponsorship guidelines

· Re-Vamp of pricing of sponsorships to encourage more participation

· Better location at meeting

· Analysis of sponsor benefits

7. Entrepreneur Awards

· One nominee from our membership – nominee ballot at luncheon

8. Other

· Support East Area Plan in all ways possible

· Continue joint meeting with Latin American Chamber
