Seven-time X Games medalist Brian Deegan and his Metal Mulisha will lead an aerial assault of the “extreme” variety when Lowe’s presents Extreme Freestyle Motocross as part of the pre-race spectacular for the UAW-GM Quality 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series event Saturday night, Oct. 16, at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
The exhibition marks the first time Freestyle Motocross, the world’s most popular extreme sport, has been part of a Lowe’s Motor Speedway pre-race show and the breath-taking tricks will set the stage for an “extreme” battle of the four-wheel variety during round five of the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup.
“These guys are modern-day daredevils and the things they are able to do with a motorcycle are absolutely unbelievable,” said H.A. “Humpy” Wheeler, president and general manager of Lowe’s Motor Speedway. “The Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup has added a new element of excitement to this race and the spectacular aerobatics of Freestyle Motocross is the perfect way to kick off the evening.”
