The current version of A Real Validator was released before XHTML 1.1 came into being, but you can add support for XHTML 1.1 to A Real Validator 1.1 or 1.11 by following these steps:
Download the XHTML 1.1 ZIP archive from the W3C.
Copy the contents of the archive's DTD directory to A Real Validator's sgml-lib directory (by default this directory is located at C:\Program Files\Liam Quinn\A Real Validator\sgml-lib).
Open the file named xhtml.soc from A Real Validator's sgml-lib directory using a plain text editor (such as Notepad). Add the following two lines under the line with "OVERRIDE YES":
PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "xhtml11-flat.dtd" PUBLIC "-//W3C//ENTITIES XHTML 1.1 Document Model 1.0//EN" "xhtml11-model-1.mod"
Save the modified xhtml.soc.
When you validate XHTML 1.1 documents, make sure that XML/XHTML is selected in A Real Validator's Mode menu.
If you don't mind fetching the XHTML 1.1 DTD over the Internet, you can skip steps 1-3.
