Sabah Foundation Building
Situated in Likas Bay, is the 30-story notable landmark of
KK. It is a glass building supported by high tensile steel
rods emanating from a central building and is an
architectural and engineering feat. The building is unique
because it is one of the few buildings in the world to
utilize a single column structure.
Sabah Trade Center (STC)
The center was established in line with the State
Government's policy of promoting a value-added economy
through private sector investments. STC's function is to
provide a much needed venue for a wide range of activities
such as exhibitions, conventions, seminars, meetings,
gatherings and other functions. With the state government's
efforts to accelerate industrial development and the
strategic location of Sabah in the Brunei, Indonesia,
Malaysia and Philippines - East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA)
configuration, the STC is poised to play a vital role in
these developments. STC is strategically located in the
outskirt of the city and yet, is very accessible. It is 12
km from Kota Kinabalu International Airport and it takes
just 15-minutes by car. Its majestic background is the Mount
Kinabalu in the east and the South China Sea in the north.
By virtue of Kota Kinabalu being centrally located in
South-East Asia, STC is strategically located to serve the
Southeast Asia region.
Kota Kinabalu City Bird Sanctuary (KKCBS)
Designated as a bird sanctuary in September 1996, this

existed in much of the area in the coastal town of Kota
Kinabalu. The site is an important refuge and feeding ground
for many species of resident birds, as well as several
migratory species from Northern Asia. KKCBS is not only a

shrouded in mists and clouds, all of which add to the
mountain's mysterious allure. Mt. Kinabalu has an awesome
mystique all its own, no wonder that, long ago, the Kadazans/Dusuns
named it "Aki Nabalu" or "home of the spirits
of the dead".
Mt. Kinabalu National Park
