Fishing is a way of life in Mazatlán. Record-size sailfish, black, blue and striped marlin all flock in our local waters, along with mahi-mahi, dorado, wahoo, grouper, sea bass and yellowtail. Mazatlán’s original party, Fiesta Mexicana, takes place 3 times weekly—only at Hotel Playa Mazatlán. Terraza Playa Restaurant, with its sultry, open-air terrace overlooking Gaviotas beach, features nightly live music and dancing, 8 p.m.-Midnight.
