Vieques is surrounded by exquisitely beautiful green and turquoise beaches. Blue Beach, Red Beach, Orchid Beach, Navio, Media Luna, Sun Bay, Green Beach, the endless little beaches in between and the worlds most brilliant* bioluminescent bay. Vieques is also covered with wild jasmine, growing wherever it has not been cut away.

Newly open to the public is a 15,000 acre US Fish and Wildlife Reserve (with land on the eastern half and western half of the island). The Mosquito Bay Reserve and Bioluminescent Bay are operated by the Department of Natural Resources and the National Parks of Puerto Rico administers the Sun Bay Beach area.
