Defense Trade Controls - A Message from the Managing Director Regarding D-Trade

We are very excited about the implementation of D-Trade, our fully electronic defense export licensing system. We could not have gotten where we are today without industry design recommendations to make the system user-friendly. Similarly, we will not be able to realize the advantages of the system without industry support as well. We are committed to making this system as effective and convenient as possible. We expect shortly to be doing most of our licensing via this system, and thereby phasing out our paper-based licensing processes. I encourage you and your company to use this system for your defense trade business immediately. All the information you need to get started may be found at the D-Trade Information Center (www.pmdtc.org/dtrade). Additionally, we have set up the D-Trade Helpdesk to assist you in making the transition from paper-based to computer-based licensing. With a little bit of acclimatization, you will see that the new system will greatly facilitate your defense trade business needs. If you have concerns regarding the system, please let me know, but the potential of D-Trade will not be realized if you continue to submit paper applications. Thank you for your cooperation.
