Secretary Powell accompanied the President to the U.S.-EU Summit in Ireland at Dromoland Castle on June 26 and the NATO Summit in Istanbul, Turkey on June 28 and 29.

Secretary Powell toured the Abu Shouk Camp where he met with the relief workers who are there, with members of the cease-fire commission, and with the many people and groups who have been displaced by the fighting and the other hardships that they've had to endure there.The Secretary visited Khartoum,  Sudan June 29 and 30 to meet with government leaders.  In Darfur he met with relief workers, with members of the cease-fire commission, and with the many people and groups who have been displaced by the fighting and other hardships.  [Photo Gallery from Sudan visit]

 

Secretary Powell is interviewed by students from Indonesia on July 2, 2004 and Televised by RTCI Television with Host Yulia Supadmo.  [State Department Photo] Following the two summits and Sudan visit, Secretary Powell traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia for the ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial and ASEAN Post-Ministerial meetings for discussions on regional and transnational issues of mutual concern.  He also met with student leaders from Indonesia.
