College football Bowl Betting GamesUnlike most sports where several times have a chance to win the overall title in the post season, college football now only gives the top two teams a chance to win it all. There is no post-season in the same sense as NFL or Major League baseball and no tournament like college basketball. There are 25 post-season games (other than the conference Championship games for the MAC, SEC and Big 12) known as Bowl Games that the top teams are invited to participate in. These are financially rewarding for the participating teams and are also important as bragging material for recruiting high school players. The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) is a system to determine the top 8 teams based on several different polls as well as a computer-calculated strength-of-schedule. The top 8 teams as ranked by the BCS participate in the Sugar, Fiesta, Orange and Rose Bowls. The teams ranked #1 and #2 by the BCS participate in a single game to determine the National Champion. The championship game rotates between the 4 BCS Bowl games. For 2001-2002, it is the Rose Bowl. Here is the Bowl Schedule for the 2001-2002 season: December 18th December 19th December 25th December 27th December 28th December 29th December 30th December 31st January 1st January 2nd January 3rd *BCS GAMES
