Welcome to the homepage
of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). Through this website, USTDA
seeks to provide the latest information about USTDA early project
planning activities around the world. We hope that this site will
serve as a valuable resource to you.
As a core priority,
USTDA facilitates development in emerging markets by promoting U.S.
partnerships in high priority overseas projects. Our program
achieves this goal by responding to the development priorities of
public and private sector project sponsors in host countries. In this process, USTDA
offers a wide range of opportunities for U.S. firms to apply their
products, technology and expertise in the pursuit of important
development objectives. To date, these opportunities have been
connected with more than $21 billion in U.S. exports. Details on how to work with
USTDA, including current grant and contracting opportunities, as
well as information on how to obtain copies of USTDA-funded studies,
are available on this site.
As President Bush said, "The work of development is much broader
than development aid. The vast majority of financing for
development comes not from aid, but from trade and domestic capital
and foreign investment. … So, to be serious about fighting poverty,
we must be serious about expanding trade." USTDA looks forward
to continuing to support this vision.
