  • Moving Expenses
The firm pays actual moving and travel expenses for new attorneys.
  • Short-term medical coverage
Available through the firm in the U.S. between graduation and arrival and may also be purchased for your spouse and dependents.
  • Vacation
First through third year associates are entitled to 15 days of paid vacation per calendar year.  Fourth year and more senior associates are entitled to 20 days of paid vacation per calendar year.
  • Health Coverage

The firm provides life insurance from your first day of employment equal to three times your annual base salary, as well as accidental death and dismemberment coverage and short- and long-term disability insurance. On the first day of the month following an associate's first day of employment, full-time associates are eligible to participate in an excellent 401(k) retirement plan with nine investment options.
  • Flexibility
Vinson & Elkins enables associates to meet familial obligations several ways. The firm provides a 12-week leave of absence with full pay and benefits for the birth or adoption of a child, care of a seriously ill family member, or serious health problems. We have also established a formal flexible work arrangement policy for those who desire a more flexible schedule.
  • Employee Assistance Program

  • Parking or Transportation
Certain Vinson & Elkins offices provide a parking allowance for associates; selected others provide transportation stipends.
