Guests at Old Hatchery Lake stay in the Fern Cottage on the edge of the lake. The cottage is a two story A-frame with downstairs queen bed plus a loft with queen bed and two twins.

The Fern Cottage in nestled in the pine and fir trees, a nature lover's paradise offering fishing at your front door, swimming and boating in non power boats.

You are minutes from the Skokomish River, the gateway to the Olympic National Park for hiking and backpacking, bird-watching, and the enjoyment of the beautiful Olympic Mountains and the Olympic Loop.

Located just above Hood Canal where salt water sports abound and you can find some of the finest seafood in the world. Just a short drive from the cottage and you are on the first tee of the famous Alderbrook championship golf course.

We have kayak lessons on Old Hatchery Lake, classes and 1/2 day tours on beautiful Lake Cushman, scuba in the canal, mountain hiking and biking trails, Cascadia Marine Trail. Please feel free to bring your own canoes, kayaks, water floaties and toys. We have free dock tie up.

We are 45 minutes form the Seattle Bremerton Ferry, one hour from Tacoma and 30 minutes from Olympia. The Bremerton Airport is 30 minutes by car and Sanderson airfield is 15 minutes. We are minutes from Alderbrook where you can land by sea plane, we will pick you up and drive you to the cottage.

From your chairs on the deck, you can enjoy the eagles, osprey and perhaps see the beaver at work. Coyotes sing you to sleep and you will wake to wild bird songs.

Old Hatchery Lake is off the beaten path, a safe place for families to enjoy the quiet without the worry of traffic. You are secluded and safe.
