Thayer's
Today.....

Thayer's Historic Bed n'
Breakfast was voted "Property of the Year"
by the Minnesota Association of
Innkeepers .... for Thayer's outstanding contribution to Minnesota's Lodging Industry!
Arrington's Bed & Breakfast Journal has Thayer's listed in the
nation's top 3 Bed & Breakfasts, offering Murder Mystery
Dinners, 2 years in a row!

New and ever changing,
that's what Thayer's is to me. We have new Workshops and
retreats available for learning and fun, plus many different
classes and SPA services as well as a stress management
retreat for private groups and individuals.
Yes, Interactive Murder
Mystery Dinners and the Jazzy, Jazz and Blues show are on the
schedule for 2005 along with the new
stuff.
Check out the calendar
of events for a complete listing of the tried and true as well
as the new.
I'll be teaching more
psychic development classes, seminars, and retreats plus I
will be joined by some great motivational speakers and
talented instructors beginning this October.
Did you know that children
can be invited to our new Holiday, Horses, Crafts and Cooking
classes, as well as some slumber parties and Afternoon Teas?
Yes it's true!
I decided that in
order to accommodate our new holistic directions and programs,
that I needed to make some major changes, so, I dropped our
liquor license and put in a coffee, tea and dessert bar that
specializes in healthy, non-alcoholic, hard to find fun foods
and beverages. OK, Ok , now don't panic! I still believe in
comfort foods and sugar and chocolate!! That will not change,
I can guarantee it!! I just thought it was important to
offer a different atmosphere that could comfortably include
little people and I figure we can all enjoy the options in
that direction too.
Wedding dates are
filling in more and more and our "We want Simple"
wedding package is a big hit. It's a wonderful way to have an inexpensive,
personal and private ceremony.
Arrington's Bed and
Breakfast Journal has been nice enough to do an article on
Thayers in their Holiday edition this year. Can't wait to see
it! Miss Sadie and TN are very photogenic and wonderful
cats; I understand that the magazine has some nice photos of
them.

PS: We have been re-reopen
since November 2002 and life here is becoming sane once
more! For those of you that don't know, Thayer's
experienced two HUGE business life changing events with in a
year of each other. Each time, water was the changer and all of
us living at Thayer's were the changees. First time, in February
2001 a pipe broke on the third floor and flooded us; with-in
moments ceilings were falling on the main floor and the basement
was knee deep in water- we were closed for a year to re-build.
About 2 weeks before the official re-opening, a sprinkler head
located again on the third floor, went off and in less time than
it is taking me to tell you about it, we were hip deep in water
from the third floor to the basement one, more, time! Took
almost another year closed and about, well, too many dollars to
re-build Thayer's... and so, that's how we re-re-opened in
November of 2002 and that's how we got to where we are today and
are now doing what we do do.
The yard is look'n good!
Below is a photo of one of our fountains.
