The Consular Section is working to make visa processing available in Iraq as soon as practicable. An official announcement will be made regarding the commencement of visa services. We anticipate that visa processing will begin with nonimmigrant (temporary) applications on an appointment-only basis. At that time, applicants will be instructed on how to obtain an appointment for a visa interview. The following documents will be required:
- An international passport in which the applicant's name (including children's names) is written in Latin characters and which is valid for at least six months from the last day that you plan to be in the United States.
- A non-reimbursable $100 machine-readable visa fee (instructions will be provided on where and how to make this payment).
- A DS-156 application form completely and accurately filled out in English (each applicant 14 years of age and older must sign his/her application form). Many applicants will also need to complete a DS-157 form, including the Guide to Supplemental Form.
- A 5cm x 5cm recent, high quality, clear, color photograph for each applicant showing full face forward against a white background (no photographs with dark glasses or head-coverings other than religious wear are acceptable). For more information, please refer to Nonimmigrant Visa Photograph Requirements.
