Why Christie's

Strong client service, unrivaled experience in the international art market, and a global network of salerooms and representative offices have made Christie's the auction house of choice for consignors. Prices achieved at Christie's auctions often exceed expectations and generally achieve consistently impressive totals.

A unique and tailor-made strategy to obtain optimal returns for any type of property draws on Christie's wealth of resources, including an international team of highly respected auctioneers; experienced specialists to evaluate and catalogue any collection; an extensive database of potential buyers around the world; and an international group of skilled marketing and public relations teams.

Seller's Commission

Christie's operates a sliding scale of seller's commission rates from 2% to 10%, calculated on combined annual purchases and sales of property at Christie's. The consignor may also be responsible for such charges as insurance, illustration, restoration, shipping, and other services. VAT or value added tax is applicable in certain countries.
