Another great game! "Nancy Drew: Secret of the Scarlet Hand" is the 6th in this series by HER Interactive. Each game is full of clues, puzzles, and exciting (and possibly dangerous) adventures. "Scarlet Hand" is no exception. In this game, you (as Nancy) take an internship at the Beech Hill Museum, and when a priceless artifact goes missing, it's up to you to find out what's going on. You'll explore the museum (which includes a pyramid with several levels, and an outside exhibit), and take the subway to visit several other key locations. You'll talk to various people, all the while knowing that one of them could be the thief. It's a really fun game; I've played all the others and this one took longer than the previous game ("Final Scene") for me. It took about 10 hours on the senior level, and I was playing it with a partner. There are a lot of facts to write down and recall, and the puzzles in this game are very original. I was very pleased with the number of puzzles; just the right amount. What I really liked about this game, in comparison to some of the other Nancy Drew games, was that you didn't have to maneuver your mouse so much to find things. In some of the other games, you can only see objects if you position your cursor at just the right angle turning just the right direction. In this game, everything was very out in the open and the game was easy to maneuver; surprisingly, however, that didn't make the game any less challenging than its predecessors. Just another great addition to the "Nancy Drew" games collection, "Scarlet Hand" is sure to please gamers and mystery-lovers alike.
Not this ND game If you're going to get an ND (Nancy Drew) game at all, don't get this one, at least not until you're done with all the other ones. Because this is the first one out of the entire Nancy Drew game series, it has terrible graphics. The people are 2D and look like they were cut out of a cartoon. It's even worse when the environment is 3D! Plus, you have to keep on switching between 2 disks! It's very tiring and annoying. If you have a fast computer, the likeliness of it is that it'll freeze a lot. That's what happened on my computer and it's fast, but when my friend played it (who has a slow computer), it only froze ONCE. But on the plus side, the whole concept of taking Nancy Drew books and turning them into interactive mystery games for children is brilliant. It's absolutely fun and educating but not to the point that it's boring. I don't suggest THIS specific mystery game, but I do suggest you start playing Nancy Drew games because all of them are fun except this one.
Very interesting --- Another good mystery I thought it was very good, only it was a little too complicated. I liked the usually good graphics (for Nancy Drew games) but I didn't particularly like the way you couldn't easily get around. Really well done ghost dogs, very scary. The mystery was a creepy one, and the villain was certainly unexpected. That's all I'll say. Anymore would spoil it.
