Tulai Island
There are actually two dive sites which can be found at the north-west edge of Tulai Island: Gador Bay 1 and Gador Bay 2. Often they are dived together as one as there seems little obvious demarcation between them. Located on the slopes of Tulai, before and after the bay, they feature gradual inclines with medium size volcanic rocks all the way down to the sandy bottom. Gorgonian sea fans dominate both sites with scorpion fish forming the main residents here.
You'll also have the opportunity for some great swim-throughs in the gaps between the chaotic jumble of volcanic boulders. The rocks are arranged in such a disorganised fashion that it can be entertaining simply to play around penetrating the swim-throughs back and forth.
Slipping past as you navigate the site are Napoleon wrasses, angelfish and butterflyfish. On the floor you are likely to see stationary lizardfish lying motionless as well as the much-maligned crown of thorns starfish. In huge numbers they can, of course, be devastating but they normally do play an important role in making way for coral regeneration, a natural promotion of healthy reefs. Among the staghorn corals and black corals on the boulders, you'll find a littering of sea stars while on the sand, cushion stars and sea cucumbers seem to compete for competition along the sea bed. On the sandy floor you may also see a few blue-spotted rays resting or flapping off when disturbed.
