Original Web Design Done Right

There is a strong value in standing out in the crowd however you don’t want to be too different. People like what they know and though your absolutely original idea may look cool, if it is designed in such a way that it is too different the visitor may get a little lost or overwhelmed. There is a reason that websites are designed the way that they are and that is consistency and ease of navigation. People surfing the Net know where to look for links and know where to look for content and if you change that uniform structure too much it may be frustrating to the visitor. Originality is good so long as it does not take away from the focus of the website. Make sure you don’t stand out for all the wrong reasons. Strive to have a website that stands out through color schemes, ease of navigation or attractive image work rather than the latest cool flashy link you may have seen. If it doesn’t fit don’t wear it.
