Little Luck, Big Home Business Opportunity
Timing is everything when it comes to finding the right opportunity to start a home business and this rings true for the rest of your hunt for the right business to start. So, if you're going to make, if not a lot, some money from home, then you have to be everywhere and check everything out in order for you to be in the right place, right?
Erm, no.
Finding the Right Opportunity to Start a Home Based Business Has Nothing to do with Luck.
Luck has NOTHING to do with finding the right business to start - ok, well, luck has a little to do with it. But even people on the blacklist of Lady Luck can find a good opportunity if the search is conducted right.
First, let's start with WHERE.
You'll find tons of home business opportunities on the Internet, although most of them deserves to be chucked out of the window the moment you see it, but there are tons of websites offering leads and tips and some even have mentor programs to get you started. Frankly, some mentor programs are like MLM systems. As in an upline to a downline, if you've ever been in an MLM business, you'll know what it means. If not, pretend you never heard it and just run for your life if you don't want to get involved in an MLM business.
Looking for Leads for Your Home Business Not an Opportunity
' Opportunity ' in home business terms often means this: direct-selling, affiliate programs or Multi-Level-Marketing programs. Yes, that's right. Nothing wrong with it but I reckon a lot of people don't want to be associated with those types of businesses and if I am right, then you'd be better off looking for leads and job postings.
Job postings can be found in sites like www.getafreelancer.com, www.moneymakingmoms.com, www.craiglist.org, www 2work-at-home.com or even www.sohojobs.com! Some awards jobs to the highest bidders based on the pricing and the capabilities of the home business owners. Take on the ones that don't require you to bid, this way, you can maintain your worth. Why?
Well, when you're bidding for projects, this often means that there's a chance that others (often the person who posted the project there) could log in as a different user and bring the price down. People who are trying to win the project will try to go lower than that and the job poster will eventually bid on the lowest of them all.
So, advice is: go for those that does not require you to bid for the project. That way, you get to keep your worth.
Take the Opportunity to Offer Your Home Business Service Even If It's Not Asked For.
If you find ads in the classified section of your newspaper and you sit there wishing that they were looking for a freelancer or home business owner, don't just sit there! Write to them and tell them that you can help them solve their problem. Justify your proposal and convince them that they're better off using your home business service than hiring a full-time or part-time staff.
So, even if they're not looking specifically for home business owners like you, take the opportunity to introduce yourself to them and tell them about your business. Even if you don't get the job this time, tell them to keep your information handy and they can use you when they want to.
