CONCORD, N.C. - David Starr put the No. 75 Spears Manufacturing Silverado on the pole for the Infineon 200 at Lowe's Motor Speedway with a time of 30.239, 178.577 mph. It is the third career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series pole for the Houston, TX native.
"I am just proud to give Chevrolet their second pole of the year," said Starr. "I am especially happy to give the Spears team, Dave and my guys a pole. I feel good being a part of Wayne and Connie Spears Motorsports Team. Dave and my guys have been working hard all year. We've just had some bad luck and hopefully we can leave some of that bad luck behind us and start finishing where we need to finish."
Starr's track record run edged out Carl Edwards for the top spot by 0.14 seconds.
"I feel that lap was best that I could drive it," said Edwards. "I don't feel like I left anything on the table. I just felt that we could have freed the truck up more and a lot of that decision rests on my shoulders, so I'm a little frustrated because I feel like we could have been another two tenths faster."
Mike Skinner, Matt Crafton and Bobby Hamilton rounded out the top-five qualifiers.
The Infineon 200 is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET.
