A business opportunity magazine is a magazine that is published for business opportunity seekers to see what business opportunity sellers have to offer. Like any other market place, the motto of "buyer beware" dominates.

You should never assume that everything you see offered in a business opportunity magazine is a legitimate, profitable, business opportunity. After all, if you had a legitimate business opportunity for sale, would you list it in a business opportunity magazine? Probably! If you had a business opportunity scam you wanted to sell, would you list that in a business opportunity magazine? Probably! Because both sellers are looking for the same niche market, business opportunity seekers.

A Business Opportunity Magazine Does Not Usually Give Endorsements

There are several business opportunity magazines and each one has their own policies and procedures. However, typically, a business opportunity magazine can not, and will not, give endorsements for the business opportunities advertised in their magazine. They can not give endorsements because, in most cases, they have not investigated the business opportunities that are advertised in their magazines. These are just purchased advertisement space.

Occasionally you will run into a business opportunity magazine that will only take advertisements from business opportunities who are members of the Better Business Bureau. Other times you might find a business opportunity magazine which will do a better business bureau check on each advertiser and only allow those with a favorable BBB review to advertise.

Most all Business Opportunity magazines will have a disclaimer letting their readers know if there are any qualifications that their advertisers had to pass to advertise in their magazine. They will also say something like: "It is highly recommended that you thoroughly investigate any company before paying money to participate in a business opportunity."

A Business Opportunity Magazine is a Centralized Location to See What is Available

Before the Internet, there was a larger call for print business opportunity magazines than there is now. The Internet has provided another centralized placed where business opportunity seekers can see information on business opportunities available. However, the Internet has not replaced the Business Opportunity Magazine as a source for business opportunities and information.

A Business Opportunity magazine should be used as one source for researching the business opportunity market.

However, like the Internet, a business opportunity magazine will also have a lot of business opportunity scams for sale. You will also find a lot of legitimate business opportunities that do not have a good value, sellable product, or for which there is no market.

Irregardless of where you find information on a business opportunity, whether it is in a magazine, on the Internet, on TV, from a friend, through an email, or any where else. The most important thing really is to research it well before you spend any money.

First make sure that it isn't a scam. That the company behind it is reputable and established with a good record at the BBB and satisfied customers.

Secondly, make sure the business opportunity is one you can do and will feel comfortable doing.

And finally, make sure there is a market for the business opportunity.
