Chosen for a Business Opportunity?
Have you ever received an email from anyone, someone about you being selected as the few lucky ones to win a Bahamas trip for two that comes along with a business opportunity?
Have you? I have.
I was merely sitting in front of my computer one fine day, reading and checking my emails and replying some important emails that my clients have sent me when there was an email with the subject 'Claim your business opportunity and Bahamas trip now'. Not one to pass up on a potential business opportunity AND a trip to Bahamas, I opened the mail to find out what is in there.
So, Was it Realy a Business Opportunity?
Well, to cut to the chase - NO. Absolutely not. There was nothing in the email that tells me about a business opportunity that I have been so honorably selected to accept. I was merely told that there was a chance for me to win a trip to Bahamas, a wonderful island with endless beaches and beautiful people, if I clicked on a link.
I clicked on the link, for the fun of it. I spotted signs of a scam the moment it said nothing about the business opportunity I was waiting to make a grab for. The link brought me to page where the headline was 'The business opportunity of your lifetime. Don't miss out this chance to win a trip to Bahamas with expenses paid'. Too good to be true - my mind spun and yes, it was too good to be true.
Pay up or Miss the Business Opportunity
Another big sign that it was a scam was that it asked me for my name and email address AGAIN. Since they sent me the email to begin with and I was the selected few, wouldn't they already have my email address? And in order to qualify for the business opportunity, I need to pay them $19.99 and they did not hesitate to ask me for my credit card number within the first page of the website. Gee, like it was so blatantly obvious that it's a scam.
Business Opportunity it is Definitely Not
If you're really keen to win a trip to Bahamas, let me tell you something straight in your face - check for free trips to Bahamas from travel sites, and ticket booking sites. These are sites and companies that have free tickets, sittings and hotel bookings at their beck and call. Therefore, offering a free ticket, hotel room is probably of minimal cost to them.
But there's no such thing as a business opportunity with a free trip to Bahamas - or anywhere else on the planet. If it's a business opportunity, it should be from a credible company that requires no payment upfront, and normally, business opportunities don't come with free trips.
A company that offers a business opportunity can select their participants, agents and distributors. They should be able to pre-qualify their subscribers. However, companies don't normally perform a lucky draw to pick out the recipients of their business agents. That's like throwing a stone out of the window to see who will make a good bride. I mean, what if the stone hits a dog?
