Spot a Scam Home Business Opportunity a Mile Away

Think you'll strike the right home business opportunity the first few times you decide to do it? You're in for a surprise. Try this for yourself: go to www.google.com and type in this search phrase ' home business opportunity' and how many results do you see? Last I checked, it said 8, 630, 000 results! How many days would it take me to go through the entire list and guess how many of them are legitimate?

Saying legitimate, I am referring to business opportunities that requires to REALLY work from home and earn a reasonable income. I am referring to an opportunity that does not require you to pay them a certain amount of money in order for you to start. I am talking about a really no-startup-cost home business opportunity here.

Rule 1: Never Pay for a Home Business Opportunity

An opportunity to make money online should not require you to pay money online. Lots of opportunities require you to and most of the time, this is legitimate. Unless you've have had the chance to speak to the people operating the business, better yet, meet up with them, then you're better off being safe than sorry - especially they require a lot of money from you in order for you to start your home business. Besides, you're not even sure if it's for you yet! If they offer a refund, then it should be OK for you to check out who's behind it and the background of the product and company.

Stuffing Envelopes are Normally Scams

Ever answered a call for home workers to stuff envelopes and earn thousands of dollars per week? I have! In fact, I feel for this scam three times! No kidding...I just wanted to prove to myself that I was a scam. And I did. Someone please congratulate me.

Don't Get Too Excited about the Home Business Opportunity and Jump the Gun

Many people can write very well in this world and some write so well, they can convince anyone of anything - and some of them are being paid to write for scam companies offering you an opportunity to start your own business. Keep asking yourself questions like what work are you required to do, how many hours, what does it involve, are there any products/services to sell, how will they pay you, what's the fee structure like and when will they pay you! ! If they don't answer the questions in a satisfactory manner, strike them off your list.

What Happens If You've Fallen Victim to Such a Scam Home Business Opportunity?

Don't panic, that's one thing you shouldn't do. It will only make you angry and rash. It will make you do things to jeopardize your chances of getting your money back! And that's the first thing you should want to do - to get your money back from them.

Contact someone in the company, as far up as possible. Make repeated phone calls and send them letters informing them that you have paid for a chance to explore the business opportunity and you found it unsuitable for you. You would like to have your money back. Otherwise, you would be contacting the relevant authorities for file an official complaint. If they don't give you your money back, don't hesitate to get in touch with the right authorities to bring their attention to this scam so that others won't fall victim to it.
