This must be an area where your older children know not to disturb you unless absolutely necessary, and you can keep an eye on your infant or toddler. One device that more mothers and fathers are using is a baby monitor. One can set up this one way radio by putting the one walkie-talkie in the small child's room and one in their parent's office.

You can also keep an eye on the older kids by hiding one of the radios where they normally hang out and keep the other radio with you. Also, have snacks and juice or milk pre-arranged for the children, so you do not get out of the swing of your work routine.
