Yes, you've got to have a MASSIVE attitude when you run a business from home. You have to have the attitude and personality of the CEO, the managing director or the general manager of a huge International corporation. As a small home based business, we are clawing our way up in a world that is filled with not only bigger competitors but small competitors like us with the wrong approach to running a home based business!
It will effect our business because we need to differentiate ourselves from those people. We don't want our clients to think that we're not serious about our business. Realistically speaking, clients will only give us projects when they see that we are committed to our work, our business. Only when we treat it as a business will they ever - EVER - treat our business like a business.
Dare to Tirelessly Promote Our Home Based Business
One of the biggest a small business owner can make is to refuse to learn how to promote or market their own home based business for fear of rejection. Let's face it, rejection is everywhere! We go through it every single day - we spend countless hours in the kitchen cooking up a storm for our kids and what do we get for 'thanks'? Yucks. That's rejection.
But some small home based business owners dare not promote themselves because they are not confident about their services/products. If that is the problem, then fine tune the products and services NOW and in the meantime, PROMOTE like your life depends on it!

We may think that our clients won't know whether our desk is cluttered or not, or whether our kitchen sink is cleared or not...etc. Yes, they may not know the exact condition of our homes or the space we have designated for office space. But the truth is that, the quality of our work, our response rate, the way we manage the projects shows how well we organize our home.
If we can't run our own home based business well enough, in order for us to earn money, then they can already tell how well we are organizing our desk, our computer, the laundry, the shoe closet and the refrigerator!
