Owning a Business Opportunity Can be Hazardous to Your Health If it Puts Undue Stress on the Owner

Not everyone will have failing health with owning a business opportunity, but it can lead to health problems if it causes too much stress.

Not everyone is best suited with business opportunity ownership. Some people need the routine of a job or the dependability of a paycheck to feel secure. If you are one of these people and you choose to leave your traditional job to own a business opportunity, you may find that the stress this creates leads to health problems. If owning a business opportunity puts you out of your "risk comfortable level" then the risk of running the business opportunity would be greater, for you, than the rewards.

Not all business opportunities are conducive to good health. Just like the business opportunity owner must be a certain type of person to have his health affected by his business ownership, so the business must be a certain type of business. Obviously a business opportunity such as owning an ambulance service would come with a higher stress level than some other business opportunities.

Other Ways Owning a Business Opportunity Can be Hazardous to Your Health

Obviously, some types of business opportunities would carry health risks that others would not. For example, if you business opportunity is child care, you are at a greater health risk for colds, the flu and other common childhood health concerns.

Owning a business opportunity can also be hazardous to yourself if it leads to work overload. Many business opportunity owners are sole proprietorships. This means that all of the business opportunity needs must be met by one person - you. The work overload often caused by home business opportunity ownerships could lead to additional health problems for the business owner.

Depending on the nature of the business this could be back problems from too much physical labor, eye problems from too much strain on computer, etc.

Finally, Owning a Business Opportunity Can be Hazardous to Your Health If You Can't Afford Health Insurance Coverage

Many business opportunity owners are making enough with their business opportunity to get their income, but not enough to get the "extras". Unfortunately, because health insurance has gotten so expensive in America, it is now being classified as an "extra" despite the fact that it is really a necessity. Therefore, the majority of business opportunity owners are either uninsured (with no health insurance) or underinsured (with the only plan they could afford which covers next to nothing).

Couple the lack of insurance with an over booked schedule, and the business opportunity owner is not very likely to go the Doctors office for physicals and routine screening. Furthermore, when he does get sick or has a problem, he is much more likely to take a "wait and see" approach instead of seeking quick medical attention. Therefore, more problems are not detected early when they are best treated.

For all of these reasons, owning a buisness opportunity can be hazardous to your health.
