Are These Small Business Entrepreneur Facts of Just Fictitious Statements Meant to Entice.

#1 - Small business entrepreneurs do not have to work as much as other people.

This is pure fiction. This is one of those "entice" statements. Probably designed by a seller of a work at home business opportunity trying to entire people into small business entrepreneurialism. The fact is, most small business entrepreneurs report spending approximately sixty hours a week working on their small business. This compares to traditionally employed people who spend an average of forty hours a week at their job. The fact is, if you choose small business entrepreneurialism you will probably work more than you did before.

#2 As a small business entrepreneur I'll be the boss.

This is Fact - you will be the boss, and at least for the beginning you will probably also be the office manager, the inventory guy, the account representative, the public relations dept, the IT Staff, the secretary, the janitor, and so on. Get the point?

#3 As a small business entrepreneur I will finally get paid what I am worth

This might be fact if you are lucky - but it could also just as easily be fiction. You will get what the market the bear and what you get will be a direct reflection of your efforts. However, statistic show that for the first few years of a small business' growth, the business owner is typically unable to draw a salary even comparable to what he was making before becoming a small business entrepreneur.

#4 As a small business entrepreneur I can choose to do only work that I like

This one is definitely fiction! Refer back to #2 above - you might like being the boss but do you like all of those other rolls? Probably not but they are all things that your business will need done and often, as a small business entrepreneur, you are the only one to do them.

#5 As a small business entrepreneur I won't have to deal with people I don't like

Again - this is fiction. The key to any successful business is to make money. To effectively work in any business with has clients or customers (which is any business making money) you will sometimes still have to work with difficult people.

#6 If I work hard as a small business entrepreneur I will be an instant success?

As this one is worded it can only be fiction. Rarely is any business an instant success. In fact, most successful small business entrepreneurs will say it took at least three years of very hard work before they realized the successes of their efforts.

Take out the word Instant and now you have a much better chance of making this statement be a fact. Dedicated, hard work has lead to many successful small business entrepreneurs.
