One of the greatest benefits of being a home business mom is the flexibility of scheduling your own work hours. Whether you have very young children who are not yet school age, part-time kindergartners or full-day school children, the home business mom can work around it. For the younger set, the mom who has a home business can alternate work schedules with her spouse, so that there's always someone available for child care without consistently tapping into one person's schedule.
In families who have children that are in a half-day kindergarten program, the home business mom can work during the time when the children are at school. Once the youngsters are in school for the entire day, mom can devote her time to working during regular school hours and still be available for the kids when they come home.

Perhaps the nicest benefit of being a home business mom is the opportunity to be your own boss. Many folks have a hard time dealing with a boss who looks over their shoulder or continuously looks at their wristwatch when a deadline is looming. We all have the occasional doctor's appointments or days when we simply don't feel like trudging into work. For moms who work from home, this is never an issue. You can work at your own pace, keep your own schedule and have the necessary freedom to do the things that need to be done outside of the job. This benefit also pays off when one of the kids is sick and home from school. There's no mad shuffle to find a sitter or rush home from a more traditional workplace.
Vacations are another issue that come into play when one has to work. It isn't always possible for both parents to schedule corresponding vacation times, and that can cause major problems. For home business moms, this problem never arises. Simply plan your work schedule around your vacation time and - voila - you have time for fun in the sun with your family!
