Rome Wasn't Built in a Day and Neither Was the Roman's Work at Home Business

There are Ads everywhere promising Instant Success with a Work at Home Business. Incredible guarantees of outrageous amounts of money for little or no work. Work at Home Business Opportunities that promise instant growth. Is it any wonder that many work at home business owners feel disillusioned by their Work At Home Business? Is it any wonder that only 5% of all work at home businesses survive the first 5 years?

Of course not! For two reasons.

First of all the promise of an easy living will draw a certain percentage of people to work at home business opportunities that really do not have the skills or desire to work independently and run a successful business. These are the people that will buy into the work at home business but may not ever even start the actual business. Or if they do, the will give it so little effort, expecting it to grown on its own, that they will be out of business as quick as they start.

The second reason is the largest group of people. They buy into the work at home business realizing that it will require a lot of work and be willing to give the business all the effort that it needs AS LONG AS THEY SEE THE RETURNS PROMISED to them. Well - since the rewards are often overstated by the person selling the work at home business, this business owner will give it him best shot....for awhile...until he realizes he is not making thousands of dollars a week and then he will give up.

The successful 5% are those people that enter a work at home business with enough capital to live on until the work at home business is generating their income, realize that this growth will take time, and work steadily at it without giving up until success is achieved.

A Work at Home Business is Not a Life of Leisure or a Good Choice for the Lazy

Yes, there are many advantages to a work at home business. Everything from lack of commute time and expense to the freedom of your own schedule and income. But one of those advantages is NOT less time spent at work.

Statistics say that those who have a work at home business work an average of 60 hours a week (as apposed to the traditional job at 40 hours a week) to make about the same as they would make at a normal job, BUT they classify themselves at Happy much more than do people who are traditionally employed. This tells us that a true entrepreneur is not running a work at home business because he is lazy and wants to work less, but because he is truly happy working for himself.

A Work at Home Business Can Take over Your Life and Your Home

It is a fact of the nature of the beast. A Work at Home business will interfere in your life and in your home much more than most traditional jobs will. But, your Work at Home Business is a friend, not an enemy, that intrusion may feel more like a welcome addition!
