You never want your client base to leave an encounter with you with a sour taste left in their mouth. You do not want them to think negatively about the small business that you started. This will form a bond more than that of just business. Make sure that you are well aware of what it is exactly that they are looking for in the products or services that they are ordering from you.
Customers will definitely begin to think that your small business start up is imcompetent and that your small business will not be able to provide the services or products that they require from you. Make sure that your employees, if you have them, to know everything about your business so that they immediately answer any question that a client may have.
Most importantly, always treat your clients with the utmost respect. Say thank you, yes and no sir, and always speak clearly and with a pleasant tone. Your clients will not want to have business dealings with somebody that they believe hassles them. They will however want to return if they feel that they are treated well and are made comfortable. Think of having your business being like the community barbershop, where the barber knows everybody, provides a comforting environment, and does great business.
Just remember to make sure that your clients are happy. Always attempt to make them feel that they are right, even if they are not. Ask what you can do for them. Once they feel that they can communicate openly with you and your business, they will probably tell their associates and friends about your business.
