You should also have a good understanding of how your product or service will meet community needs. It may be that you an excellent idea whose time hasn't come. Make sure that you are choosing to offer something that is wanted. Stop in local shops, check the Internet or talk with friends. Your research should not end there. As you begin offering your product or service, give attention to customer feedback. Solicit customer opinion to keep your ideas fresh and relevant for your market.
Failing to Prioritize for Your Home Based Business
As important as it is to learn to wear many hats with a home based business, you must also learn to delegate. Consider what must be done. Are there jobs such as typing or other clerical work that you can hire a college student to do on a part-time basis? If so, you must make this a priority. You will need to have a clear and rested mind to make decisions that will benefit your business. You will also need to interact with many different kinds of people. Some of them may be less than pleasant. You will be more likely to respond professionally if you are not exhausted. Finally, exhaustion increases the likelihood that you will make mistakes.
Do yourself a favor. Be willing to ask for help. There is no way to be on top of your game without support.
