Those same studies have found that for their sixty hours, small business entrepreneurs often make the same or less money than the traditionally employed make in forty hours. Yet some how, the small business entrepreneur reports an overall "life satisfaction rate" which is six times greater than the traditionally employed! Think about the things that get you excited. Allow yourself to dream. Ask yourself if I won the lottery and money was no longer my main objective, what type of small business would I run just for the fun of it? Dream without restrictions and criticism.
Re visit your childhood. Often childhood was the only period in our life that we had enough free time to allow ourselves to be "irresponsible" enough to do things just for the sheer pleasure of doing them. The things you liked in your childhood are often still passions of your adulthood.
After coming up with several things you love to do. Take stock of your talents. What of these things that you love to do, can you do well enough to turn them into a small business? Typically those things we love to do are the same things that we are gifted at, so finding a few that appear on both your passions and talents list is quite probable.
Assess the market place and look for a niche market. Find a niche market for one of your passions and you are well on your way to being a successful small business entrepreneur.
