Students Benefit When Hosting a Site on the Web

As Students are faced with many challenges throughout their time in school, hosting a site on the world wide web can be a rewarding experience. There are qualities that must be explored and utilized in order to host a site effectively on the web. As students learn how to build and develop a site they are gaining skills in creativity, critical thinking, and logistics. As hosts for a site on the web these students gain experience in the challenges they face as business owners and leaders, in general. They are shown what they are capable of developing, as well.

Teachers would be wise to enhance the innate abilities inherent in the of building a website. By incorporating the "hosting a site for the world wide web" lesson into their curriculum teachers will be serving their students well.

Building and Hosting a Site for the Web is Key

Students who accomplish creating and hosting the site of their choice, for the world wide web, will gain confidence that will ripple throughout their school career. Students will gain the perspective and confidence needed to become the leaders of tomorrow through critical thinking and thoughtful analysis. Allowing the students to create and host their own site for the web is an effective way to do that. They see tangible results of their efforts in creating the site. As the results are seen a sense of accomplishment is gained, as well.

A Struggle for Site Building and Hosting for the Web

The biggest challenge for those working to incorporate site creation and hosting for the web is the Department of Education. As the administration adds more standardized testing to the area of classroom activity then there is less room for other activity. Critical thinking, leadership, self-awareness and other skills are lost in this new demand for testing. Activity that might create or enhance skills are left by the way side as teachers struggle to fit in the new curriculum requirements and testing initiatives.

As American students are slowly beaten in global competition, by schools that emphasis critical thinking and a myriad of subjects (including foreign languages), perhaps our Administration will realize the folly of basing all of the educational goals on standardized test scores and a curriculum mandate. Perhaps if we trusted the teachers who have dedicated their lives to teaching our children we would see the improvements we so desperately yearn for in our educational system.

The people who are called to teach undergo many challenges and testing in order to be chosen. They are handed a key to a classroom only after being fully credentialed. For the Department of Education to not trust the opinions of these highly qualified individuals is faulty and is killing our educational system in America. The teachers are in the classroom; they know what is going on. They are tested beyond all students to know how to effectively teach the grades they have chosen to teach- take the bureaucratic chains off.
