ORDER NO. 10-04-01 SPECIAL CLOSURE
SIX RIVERS NATIONAL FOREST
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a), and for the protection of threatened, endangered, rare, unique, or vanishing plants and special biological communities, the following act is prohibited within the Lassics Botanical Area on the Mad River Ranger District of the Six Rivers National Forest. This Order is effective from September 13, 2004 through August 12, 2005.
Possession or use of a vehicle off of National Forest System Roads 1S07, 1S11and 2S08 within the Lassics Botanical Area, as shown in the attached map, the following access roads are exempt from this prohibition:
- The access road leading from Forest Road 1S07 to the dispersed campsite at Black Lassic;
- The access road leading from Forest Road 1S07 to the dipsersed campsites at Red Lassic;
- The access road leading from Forest Road 1S07 to Blanket Creek;
- The access road leading from Forest Road 1S07 to Senteney Rock/Swayback Ridge,
- The access road leading from Forest Road 2S08 to the campsite at Alder Spring, and
- The access road leading from Forest Road 1S07 to Forest Service Trail 5E33 parking area
36 CFR 261.56.
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
- Persons with a permit from the Forest Service specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
- Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Persons with disabilities using assistive devices or aids. An assistive device is a piece of equipment, such as a wheelchair, used by a person with a disability on a daily basis to help in the accomplishment of one of life's major functions or activities. A wheelchair is defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act to be "a device designed solely for use by a mobility-impaired person for locomotion, that is suitable for use in an indoor pedestrian area." 42 USC 12207(c)(2).
This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

Violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. 16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559, 3571, and 3581.
