Imam Rahmat Phyakul at the Daroon Mosque

Southern Thailand, August 2004: Imam Rahmat Phyakul (back row, center), who established the first Thai mosque in the U.S., discusses Muslim life in America at an event sponsored by the U.S. embassy with women at the Daroon Mosque in southern Thailand in August 2004. He distributed a book on Muslim life in America and a Harvard University CD-ROM on religious pluralism to stimulate community discussions.
