The Copenhagen Strand Hotel opened in July 2000 and is centrally located in the fashionable quarter in the heart of Copenhagen, around the Nyhavn Canal, The Royal Theatre and Kongens Nytorv. This exclusive 3-star hotel is situated on the waterfront in one of the harbour's original warehouses. The building dates back to 1869 and through the years it has, for instance, housed a cardboard box factory and a paper mill. The old buildings are beautifully and carefully restored, and the decor is rustic and maritime, making it one of Copenhagen's most charming hotels with a fantastic atmosphere. The Copenhagen Strand is easily reached from anywhere, and is close to trains and buses, the airport, the Øresund Bridge, and the flying boats to Sweden depart practically from outside your door!
The hotel boasts 174 well appointed bedrooms and suites, all decorated in a rustic slightly maritime style to maintain the right ambience for the location and history. The rooms are cosy and offer exclusive amenities such as telephone, cable-TV with in-house video, mini-bar, hair dryer, trouser press and private toilet and bath tub (some rooms have a shower). Furthermore, the executive rooms are equipped with a fax machine, ironing board, bath robe and outstanding views of the Waterfront. Non-smoking rooms are also available on request.
