Searching Domains Without a Name Register is Raw Deal

For actors in search of roles searching through the classifieds in the perspective domains without adding your name to the rolls of their register is like looking for a cloud in the desert. The actor will be out of luck in this area because, simply put, these sites specialize in gaining members. The entertainment business itself has always been known to be a "members only" type industry, so, with much heavy-heartedness, I say that it makes sense that the sites would follow suit.

They make money by obtaining more members, however, they are making money from others who obviously don't have any. These potential "perspective members" are looking for work, most likely they will not register for a site that charges them a monthly fee for the use of classifieds.

Although there are good reasons for not opening all of the pages up to the public to gain members the classified section should be an open arena. Actors need places they can go to research jobs they are working on and these sites can gain members from that enterprise, not for out of work actors searching for a job. Another problem with the domain that forces you to register your name is the feeling of being forced to become a member.

The Good Days before Domains Forced a Name Register

There used to be ways of enticing people to become members that didn't force them to do so by blackmail. Domains would have so much remarkable information and interesting incentives for being a member that people in the industry would flock to them. Perhaps, this is the real problem, the domains grew too big, too fast, and had to add the name register process once this happened.

Domain Lockdown Creates Addition of Name Register

There was a time when there was open opportunity for web surfers, they would roam domains and rarely had to deal with a name register. As the internet has grown so has what may be termed the general lockdown of many sites. As the population of the internet expands the greater the problems of accessibility will become, especially in an already member oriented type of industry such as entertainment. For security purposes and marketing, as well, there are many reasons not to have an open domain.

Having to supply a name and password is completely unacceptable to view a site of non-sensitive information. This is, however, how some companies make their money online. If you, as a viewer, feel the information is valuable enough you will pay for it and marketing majors realize this. The puzzling prospect to this development, the addition of a name register, is the advertising that is usually blaring on these sites that are, in essence, forcing people to join their club.

The site is being financed by advertising and the people who own the site are supposedly working professionals in the industry. There is no good reason these website owners and seasoned professionals should be charging a web surfer to generally peruse the website domain. Basically, the same rule applies to searching websites as it does to searching for a manager- you should not have to pay up front for any aspect of the industry.
