Dry suit diving is becoming more and more popular, regardless of the water temperature. People now believe that dry suits are not just for wreck divers, cave divers, or cold water diving. Currently, divers believe that any diving which increases thermal loss, thus, decreases comfort and safety may be better done in dry suits. Dives such as long dives in warm water, deep dives, or dives for study or photography with little movement, and repeat dives, especially if you get cold easily, are perfect dives to do with dry suits.

Typically, drysuits are used in cold water diving. In order to get the most out of cold water diving, a drysuit is a must. After several dives in a wetsuit in water colder than 65 degrees, your efficiency and abilities are seriously compromised, thus dry suits should be worn for a safety measure. Any diving below 55 degrees, a dry suit is essential.

While diving with dry suits require a little extra dry suit diving training, dry suit diving is well worth it. Dry suits have become more affordable because of technological advancements and improvements. In addition, educational materials on how to use drysuits, such as books, videos, and classes are available. If you are interested in learning how to use a drysuit or have questions about dry suits, please contact us.
