Hi. I am Gary Direnfeld, father, social worker and developer of the I Promise Program. I developed this program when my own son came of driving age. I was interested in the role of parents in the safety of their children. Happily, our son has made it through his teens with no incidents.

Has your teenager made the safe driving promise yet?
The I Promise Program is designed to reduce the risk of youth related car crashes, injuries and deaths and is available to all parents and teens for free.
Simply print and complete the Parent-Youth Safe Driving Contract and then for added safety, consider printing the rear window sign and placing it in your car.
I have had amazing support to get this program going including a research grant of $104,819 to the Plan-It Safe research program of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario courtesy of The Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation. For more program details and program history, click here.
