The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is repeating its one-day workshop on Understanding the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA) for those who missed it last year. This workshop is designed to help manufacturers of hazardous household substances, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and child-resistant (CR) packaging better understand the PPPA. Note: This workshop is identical to the workshop given last year, and is intended for those who were unable to attend in 2004. When: March 16, 2005, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Where: CPSC headquarters, 4330 East West Highway, Bethesda, MD 20814, Hearing Room (4th floor). The workshop will provide an opportunity to better understand the PPPA. Staff members of the CPSC will provide an Overview of the PPPA Regulations, and discuss Petitions for Exemption, Compliance Issues, and Testing Issues. There will also be smaller breakout sessions that cover the Federal Hazardous Substances Act Labeling requirements, Prescription Drugs and Physician Samples, Unit Packaging, and CPSC Data Sources for Poisoning Incidents. This is a free, public event open to anyone with an interest in the PPPA. There is no charge to attend, but registration is required for each attendee using the online form on the right. Registration is limited to the first 100 registrants and will close after 100 have people registered or on Friday February 11, 2005, whichever occurs first. |
