We got going at 5:00 on this day of 30+ mph trades going to my favorite buoy, it was a smoking day of big seas. We got a small ono as we aproached the buoy. Then we took a 4 banger mahi and got them all. Next pass we got a mahi, then a nice big ono, then a nice shibi. It was realy rough at the buoy, the white elephants were roaming the landscape, so we headed towards the ledge. On the ledge we took 1 ono hit but it came off. In the harbor only Jason was game to eat an eyeball out of a mahi. These folks all get the seaworthy seal of approval, they all did great in the wild ocean we fished today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 25+ mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. Our first pass at the buoy we took a 6 banger shibi and Scot baited up a mahi too, we got them all. Next pass we took a 5 banger shibi and a mahi, and Scot baited up 3 more mahi. Things were happening fast and furious, just like the big seas that were bouncing us around. Next pass we took a double mahi. Then a triple shibi. And then our marlin came up and ate the lure on the corner and took out 150 yards of line, Kevin had it back to the boat in record time. Scot then baited up a few more shibi on light line and Kevin got a work out on them. On the way in we got our small ono to make our sweep. These folks did a great job on all these fish, and handeled the rough seas as well as they could. It was a very rough day but the fish liked it. In the harbor Kevin ate an eyeball out of the marlin, and the girls both ate mahi eyes, I like it . Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 15 mph trades going to my next favorite  buoy. At the buoy we took a double mahi, and then Scot baited up 3 more for 5 on the first pass, a great way to start the day. We then caught some small shibi and ran them live, no mahi came to eat them so we set up and trolled on outside. We found an open school of mahi and got 2 more. Later we found 2 birds and took a double mahi and Scot baited up 3 more. Near a different buoy we found another school and got 2 more mahi. Back in the harbor I had to show them how to eat eyeballs, but I was the only one to eat one. These folks did a great job on all these mahi today, we just love the trade winds for fishing. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  The Millikins Matthew, Jennifer, and Cheryle caught 5 mahi 1 ono and 1 nice shibi for a fun day
We got going at 5:30 due to a minor fuel problem, on this day of 10-15 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. On the way there we took a 4 banger mahi and got 3 of them. At the buoy we had a double but only one nice shibi stayed on and we got it. Then we caught some small shibi and ran them live, soon after a mahi ate one and Jennifer reeled it in, a nice big 27 pound bully. Then Scot hooked up a smaller one and Cheryle got to reel it in. Them we went outside and found an open school of mahi but we had 3 hits and none stayed on. We then went to a different buoy and got a small ono there. No hits on the way in. The fish got to keep all of their eyes today. These folks were a lot of fun to fish with, good going. The trades blowing realy helped the fishing to improve. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got going at 5:00 on this day of 10 mph light winds going to my old favorite buoy. W e caught some small shibi and ran them live, before long a mahi chewed on one but did not hookup. Then we abited and Scot managed to hook a small mahi and Ronnie reeled it in. Then we went to another buoy and only caught some small shibi there, so we went to one more buoy. At this buoy we got more shibi and one aku, then we went outside and found an open school of mahi but they did not bite for us. No hits on the way in. In the harbor only Russ was up for eyeball eating, and he ate 5 of them gladly. These guys did great with what we had to work with. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:00 start on this day of 10 mph winds going to my next favorite buoy. On our first pass we got a small mahi, next pass we got an aku. Then we put out the light line and got some small shibi and aku and ran them live. We then baited and nothing came so we put out the squids and some mahi grabbed them, and Scot baited up 4 more for some wild action. Then we got a few more aku and shibi and headed in. Back in the harbor the whole family was up for eating eyeballs, that's great. They did real good on all these fish. Aloha Capt Rusty

Click to enlarge Click to enlarge  Kurt Campbell caught2 mahi and 10 shibi and some aku too for a fun day
It was a sunny day when we got going on this day of 10 mph winds going to my next favorite buoy. On our first pass we took a triple and got 1 aku and 1 shibi and broke line on something else that we never got to see. Then we started jigging and got some aku and ran them live. It was then that the bigger shibi started hiting our squids, it was some wild action with them blasting the lures. Kurt did great on all these fish. It was on the way in that we took  a bouble mahi and got them both. In the harbor Kurt was game to eat not one but 3 eyeballs I like it. Kurt was an avid angler and it showed, good going. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 6:00 start on this day of 10 mph winds going to my favorite buoy. At the buoy we got lots of small aku and ran them live, we got a small mahi on a clark spoon and  no takers on our baits so we went to another buoy. At that buoy we started catching some nice size shibi, Kari got the biggest one. Angel got 3 of the shibi. No hits on the way in untill Scot started to reel in the lines and then an nice ono hit the center and Angel reeled it in. These guys did a great job on all these fish, good going. Only I consumed an eyeball. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:00 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. At the buoy we caught some small aku and shibi and ran them live. Then an open school popped up near the buoy and Scot baited up a nice big mahi and Kim did a great job reeling it in. We then headed down to another buoy and on the way we had a blind strike mahi and  Charles got to reel it in. The buoy looked dead so we headed in and on the way we had another blind strike but it came off right behind the boat. In the harbor the fish got to keep their eyeballs today. These folks did great today. Aloha Capt Rusty

We got a 5:45 start on this day of 20 mph trades going to my next favorite buoy. We got to be the second boat to the buoy and got a 12 pound shibi on our pass. Then we caught a lot of small aku and shibi and ran 2 live, but no takers. So we went outside and found an open school and got 1 big mahi. Then we went to another buoy and got some more small aku and ran 2 live and a striped marlin ate one and we got it. It was a sunny day untill we came in and it poured rain on us in the harbor. Aloha Capt Rusty
