OANDA - Viewing the Java Console

Please choose your browser:

Internet Explorer (Windows)

  • The Java Console is disabled by default in Internet Explorer, we must enabled it first:
    • Click Tools | Internet Options
    • Click the Advanced tab
    • Place a checkmark beside Java Console Enabled and click the OK button
    • Close all of your Internet Explorer windows
  • Now you can click View | Java Console

  • The Java Console is disabled by default in Internet Explorer, we must enabled it first:
    • If you are using OSX Click Explorer | Preferences
    • If you are using OS9 Click Edit | Preferences
    • Below Web Browser, select Java
    • Place a checkmark beside Alert on exception, Log Java output and Log Java exceptions
    • Close all of your Internet Explorer windows
  • To see the Java Console, click View | Java Messages

How to send us your Java Console

  • Bring the Java Console into view
  • Please note that if the Java Console looks like the image below then of two possible problems has has occured:
    • The Java Console was not opened from the correct window. The Console must be opened by its parent page.
    • You are actually using the Java Plugin. Please follow the appropriate instructions on How to view your Java Plugin Console

    Empty Java Console

  • Use your mouse to highlight all of the text in the Java Console window by clicking the left mouse button and dragging it below the bottom right corner of the window (remember to keep the mouse button held down until the text stops moving):

    Copy

  • Copy the Console text onto your computer's "Clipboard". Windows users should press CTRL+C, MacOS users should press Apple+C
  • Go to our bug report page and fill in as much information as possible about the problem you are experiencing.
  • Paste the contents of your Java Console into the feedback window by clicking Edit | Paste:

  • Double-check that you have entered your correct FXTrade username and email address and click the Submit Bug Report button
