Just a short note to let you know how much we enjoyed our
short trip to Cambodia. It was a very enjoyable experience and we both
wished we had stayed for longer.
I should point out that Mr. Hani Al-Saiaari
experienced some difficulties with the Immigration authorities both
entering and leaving Cambodia. Upon arrival at Phnom Penh Airport, he
was kept waiting for 30 minutes while his entry visa was being
processed. I had to provide copies of our itinerary to show that he was
on a tourist trip. Also, the Immigration officer advised me that he
should have had a "sponsor" in Cambodia, because he was on a
Yemen passport, but they were only letting him into the country because
he
was with me and I had a European passport. Also, when we were leaving
Siem
Reap, again it took about 20-30 minutes to process his exit stamp and
the immigration officer could not understand why Mr. Al-Saiaari did not
have an "exit" stamp from Yemen, even though he has a valid
Residence Visa for the UAE. Mr. Al-Saiaari actually left Yemen about 23
years ago and has only made one visit back to that country. He has
always lived in the UAE. Eventually, he was allowed to leave Cambodia
and we were able to board the aircraft for Bangkok. However, it was a
rather uncomfortable experience and makes us hesitant about making a
second visit.
However, apart from these incidents, the tour itself
was excellent. First of all, our guide in Phnom Penh (Ms. Sophea) was
wonderful. She was extremely well-informed and helpful and we both
thought she did an excellent
job. Could you please pass on our personal regards to her and let her
know
that we enjoyed her expert guidance.
The hotel in Phnom Penh was very good including the
breakfast.
The dinner at the Topaz Restaurant, provided
complimentary by Mr. David was very good and should be recommended to
any tourist who wishes to eat outside the hotel.
The trip by boat from Phnomh Penh to Siem Reap was
extremely enjoyable and much more interesting than taking the plane. The
boat was airconditioned, very clean, and had good seating. We were able
to sleep or watch the video, or just go upstairs to the open deck and
relax.
Our hotel in Siem was satisfactory, but not as good as
Phnom Penh, but for one night there was no problem.
Our guide in Siem Reap (Mr. Yat ???) was very good and
was able to show us a lot of the Angkor Wat complex in a very short
period of time.
Could you please let both drivers know that they did a
very good job and were obviously very concerned that they were driving
in a safe manner.
Overall, we have to say that your company offers a
first class product and we would not hesitate to recommend you to
others.
With best regards,
Julian Kernohan

The following is not related to your services, but I
offer it for what it might be worth.
At Siem Reap terminal, Visa issuing procedure took
about 45 mins.
Everyone from the ATR 72 (only flight at the time),
joined one slow line in front of the "No Visa" sign. We then
discovered we could have gone straight to the officer (one of about 5)
at the other end of the same counter, to initiate the process earlier
and save time.
They simply need some more specific signs to channel
people efficiently.

We received personal attention of our guide who was
highly competent, professional and very nice as a person. Hotel
Angkoriana - Good location. Good surroundings. Beautifully outfitted.
Friendly staff, although we had a slight difficulty communicating with
them.
Bribery at the airport's arrival area - We ran into
corrupt airport police who approached us for money in exchange for some
blank forms (kept in their pant pockets, inaccessible to incoming
tourists). No clear written instructions as to which counter to contact
first, second, etc., for the payment of visa fee.
Bangkok Airways - Should distribute blank forms to
passengers prior to the arrival in Siemreap. We wish you would publicize
this so as to warn others of what they might be getting into at Siemreap
Airport.

I have really enjoyed everything, but in this time our
visiting was very short
so that we could not see another attractive place near Siem Reap.If I
will have a chance, I want to be there again. If your country will make
living by the tourism, you should cut every prices. The prices in your
country are as very high as in Japan.

Hello Lek
I completed the questionnaire I received in Cambodia
which I handed to the guide at the airport, however I can confirm that
the hotels were very good, and the guides were excellent. We had a
fantastic trip and everything went very smoothly without a single
problem. The manager in Siem Reap was extremely helpful in re-arranging
our flights for us, and I would particularly like to single out the
guide in Siem Reap as being excellent - he was helpful, informative, and
a real pleasure to have show us around Angkor Wat and the other temples.
He was absolutely superb.
I would also like to thank you for sorting out this
trip for us.
Everything went well right from our arrival in Phnom
Penh, to the time we left Siem Reap. It was a really great time, and I
will certainly recommend you and your company to others.
Many thanks

We came in to thank you personally for a wonderful trip.
The guides were excellent - they were always punctual
and very knowledgable. Mr Bun in Phnom Penh was very good, as was Mr
Samol in Angkor Wat. The drivers coped very well with the terrible
driving there and the cars were clean and safe and it was good to have
cold water waiting for you after you have visited the temples in the
heat. The Raffles hotels were the best I have stayed in anywhere in the

I think I put on one of the forms I filled in while in Cambodia that I
was a little upset that the flight back was changed without asking me.
However I saw when I got home that you had let me know and it was due to
the original flight being cancelled. In Cambodia they just said they had
changed it without explanation, so that negative comment no longer
applies. We both had a wonderful time and it was a great experience. All
the staff were very helpful and I would particularly like to that you,

Dear Ms. Lek,
My entire trip to SE Asia was wonderful and I very
much appreciate all you
and Royal Exclusive did to insure my comfort and enjoyment. I am
planning to
bring a group of 8-10 back in two years and will be contacting you.
The guide and driver in Vietnam were excellent very
professional, accommodating and enjoyable. The Saigon Prince was
excellent. The layout of the tour was perfect
The guide and driver in Siem Reap were equally
excellent. Room was comfortable at the City Royal, but the over all
facilities was rather institutional. Loved Siem Reap and found great
restaurants there!
My guide and driver in Phnom Penh were most
enjoyable, courteous and helpful. It was excellent at each arrival to
have the guides there with a sign,
willingness to help and the car cooled and waiting.
I loved the Juliana in Phnom Penh. An excellent
hotel!!!
Also, your arrangement of flights was excellent. Thai,
Bangkok and Vietnam
Airlines were all great.
I would also like your superiors to know Lek, what a
great and professional
job you did for me. All of my changes and arrangements were handled
professionally and in a most timely manner. I took great confidence in
your
service, and I will be calling you again and recommending you to other

all of your excellent arrangements in Cambodia and Vietnam. Everything
happened exactly as you had arranged it - we were met at every airport
and collected at each hotel precisely as arranged. The high point for us
was Angkor and our visit was made even more enjoyable by our very
knowledgeable guide, Mr Sokhom. We also enjoyed Da Nang, Hoi An and Hue
with the exception of the Thuan Hoa Hotel where we were badly bitten by
mosquitoes while in our room! Overall a very memorable trip, so thank
you again for all of your perfect arrangements. We are saving up for our

Dear Lek-
We have just returned from our trip and I wanted to
send you a note saying "thank you, everything was fantastic."
This was by far the most fascinating holiday trip we have ever taken,
and a great deal of that had to do with your tour packages and the
arrangements. Everything promised was delivered as described, plus some
extras (for example, the tour guide in Chiangmai took us into Burma for
several hours one morning); the tour guides were extremely helpful and
knowledgeable; and the hotels were all generally outstanding, as were
the meals provided. I was particularly impressed with the tour guides in
Siemreap (Setha), Danang (Mien), Vientiane (Hongkeo), and Chiangmai
(Ping), and would recommend requesting them for future clients taking
these tours. And of course, the sites visited and the various
boat/elephant rides were all outstanding. Everything was so exciting and
wonderful that we cannot name any one thing that was a
favorite-------they all were!!!
Thank you again for all of your help in planning this
trip. If our plans call for us to visit Thailand and Southeast Asia
again, we will be sure to call upon your services. And, in the meantime,
please feel free to use me as a reference for any of your potential
future clients. I can only give your tours and your personalized service
the greatest of praise!

There were a couple of things that made the trip an excellent trip for
me. The first was Ms. Lek. She took care of all of my questions and
changes (and there were several), and she did so in a friendly and
thooroughly professional manner. She was wonderful.
As I said above the guide Dong Vong Setha was outstanding. He was
extremely knowledgable and friendly. You should use him as much as
possible.
The Hotel was another story. For the price, this was not a 4 star
hotel...more like a 2 star. The people and the food were good; however
the accommodations were only ok.
I hope to use you again. Aside from Angkor do you have any other

Sitting here in Taiwan waiting for my flight back to

Dear Ms. Lek,
Just to let you know that we overall had a pleasant
tour but also have some comments.
1. We find that the Cambodia Hotel in Phnom Penh was
very nice and the superior standard good, whereas the Angkor Hotel in
Seam Reap not was a superior class hotel. This was very disappointing
and I recommend that you downgrade this hotel to tourist class. Even the
food at the hotel was not very good.
2. We recommend that you make a tour package where
people concentrate on Angkor Vat, the Bayon and Banteay Srei rather than
seeing at lot of temples.

Dear Lek,
My husband and I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to you for
arranging such a memorable visit to the ancient Angkor ruins (Nov.
22-3). Your assistance was impeccable from the beginning to the end, and
we were impressed by your knowledgeable and professional guide. Despite
our extremely short stay (one day), our guide managed to give us an extensive coverage of the most famous sites. When we arrived in
Bangkok afterwards, we quickly recommended your company to other
tourists who were interested in doing the same thing we did. I hope you
won't be too surprised if you do hear from these prospective clients
since I told them to ask for you.
Thanks also for booking our hotel in Bangkok. Royal Orchid Sheraton was

Cambodia was great and all the arrangements you made
were perfect. Thanks again for all of your efforts and work on my
behalf. I will be in touch again next time I visit the region. My
Comments:
1. My guide (Sehta) was very conscientious and keen but there is
clearly a fixed itinerary for one-day visits to Angkor from which he
could not be persuaded to deviate! As a result, I visited Angkor Wat
itself in the afternoon when everyone else was there!
2. The Grand Hotel d'Angkor is absolutely excellent. My only
disappointment was the absence of local/Asian food in the restaurants.
What a shame that the hotel is of the view that Westerners only like
Western food!

Dear Nalinee
We are safely back from our trip to Vietnam and Cambodia
and wanted to thank you for all your assistance with arranging our trip.
Everything went very smoothly from obtaining entry
visas in Vietnam to finding Siem Reap air tickets waiting for us upon
arrival at our hotel in Phnom Penh.
A few points for your and your future clients'
information:
1. The basic Cambodiana hotel rooms are in need of an
update - furnishings
are old and stained - and I am not sure it offers value for money in
comparison to the newer, smaller hotels in a similar price range. We
were fortunate to receive an upgrade for the 2nd part of our stay and
that room was very nice. The food at the hotel was, however, really very
good although expensive.
2. The Angkor Village hotel in Siem Reap was beautiful
and we wished we had
more than one night to enjoy it.
3. The arrangements made through you in Cambodia
were first class. The guide and driver in Siem Reap were absolutely
excellent and they made our visit to Angkor Wat and the other temples
really special. The small touches like having chilled water, hand wipes
and umbrellas available in the car made all the difference to the tour.
Thank you once again for the part you played in our
fantastic holiday.
Kind regards, Debra Adams

Thank-you. We enjoyed Cambodia very much and just got
back this evening to Bangkok. Also from this end, your preparation was
extremely good and thorough. My comments are below. I would recommend you
to any of my colleagues.
Everything was good, especially the tour guides.
The hotels rooms were good; you may hear we had one problem with the
Cambodiana, they played loud music under our room until after 4:00 AM
and we couldn't sleep...I called twice and they kept telling me that
the music had stopped, but this was not true. Anyway the manager
apologized this morning, which was nice. Also, the boat from Siem Reap
broke down and was over 2 hrs. late. This is okay though...part of the
adventure. :) This is not meant as criticism but, we found that all
guides, not just yours (including the museum ones) I believe thought
that they needed to always talk and explain things. It may be the way
that they are trained. Actually at times it is also good just to let
the person taking the tour reflect on what they see and no words are
needed. Chaya in Siem Reap let us do this more at the end. Some
other people may be different, but we at times just wanted to do
things on our own...anyway it's just a comment. Your guides were so
polite and wanted to anything we asked and had many answers to our
questions. Thanks again. Steve

Yes, I enjoyed the trip to Cambodia
and returned back to Tokyo last Sunday. Everything worked out perfectly.
As in many other Asian countries there are many people begging on the streets.
I would appreciate if the guides could give some information about what is common
praxis, I mean if it's better to give a donation to an organization or so???
I have seen in many countries that children are begging money of tourist but
after receive some money they run to a man (pimp) standing around the corner
collecting the money they got and I don't want to contribute to that! If I
give money, I would like to know that it used right, i.e. to food or even
better to children's education.
As said, I would appreciate if the guides could inform something what is common
praxis among local people. If tourists start to give much more money than the local
then only tourists will always be targeted and we have this situation that as soon as
the car door open 20-30 people will come running towards you! Maybe they could inform
if it's better to not give anything to people on the street but if you would like
to donate some money you can do it to this organization, then you know the money
will be useful and used for the right proposes......or something like that???
[Enhancement: Thank
you for a very good advice that we often see but don't realize. This
will be added in our guide training curriculum]
I would like to give a positive comments to the guides for flexibility. If I wanted
to skip something and see something else instead they always arranged that without
any problem. Of course I paid i.e. entrance fee or so myself, if it was not including
in the agenda, but they didn't mind following guiding anyway. I would like to give
some praise to the guide for that, thanks!

Both our guides (in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap) were excellent---knowledgeable, affable
and articulate. The hotels were very nice, as expected. We will recommend your travel
service to our other friends. Thanks again.

We wanted to thank you for all the help with our trip. Except for the heat,
it was wonderful! Next time we'll come in November or December.
Could you obtain an address for our guide, Chaya, in Siem Reap? We would like
to write to him.
Thank you very much. |

This is Craig Shepherd writing from Boston. A few of my colleagues here at Harvard
will be traveling to Thailand and possibly Cambodia next month and I told them that you did
a great job helping my brother Mark and I last summer. Im copying them on this email
(Jonathan Liew and Cam Dyer) --- at some point they may contact you in Bangkok for help with
flights, visas, etc. Presumably one can still fly direct from Bangkok to Siem Reap to see
Angkor Wat. Ive suggested to Jonathan that they should try to stay at the Angkor
Village hotel. Anyway, I just wanted to make the introduction in case Jonathan and Cam
decide they need a good and trustworthy travel agent in Bangkok.
