User Information
During the process of delivering our content to you, Audiogon does not collect any personally identifiable information about you such as name, address, phone number, or e-mail address. However, Audiogon does obtain some types of non-personally identifiable information such as the Internet Service Provider you use to connect to the Internet, your browser type, or the type of computer operating system you use (Macintosh or Windows, for example). The information collected by Audiogon is used for the purpose of evaluating website effectiveness.

When registering with us, we do require some specific personal information, which is kept strictly confidential, as explained below.

Cookies
Audiogon, as well as most sites on the Internet, use "cookies" to enhance your experience on the web. Audiogon cannot use these cookies to personally identify you in any way. What are cookies and why do we use them? A cookie is a very small file that your browser remembers. This file helps Audiogon track website usage, and evaluate navigation tools. In addition, it allows the system to recognize you when you sign in, and automate some aspects of content delivery to you.  While we believe that cookies enhance your Internet experience by allowing us to cater the site to your needs, they are not required for you to browse the Audiogon.

If you do not want the benefit of cookies, there is a simple procedure to manually delete your cookies. Please consult your web browser program's Help documentation for more information.

If you have any additional questions about Audiogon's dedication to consumer privacy, please contact us.

Site Registration
In order to participate is some of the Audiogon activities, you will need to register with us.  The registration form will require some personal information, such as your email, name, phone number,  and address.  This information is required so that we can reasonably insure that each registration belongs to a real person or company.

Confidentiality
The information you provide in your registration remains strictly confidential to all third parties unless legally required.  However, if you enter a binding transaction (win/sell at auction, or send money/item) with another Audiogon member, then your name and your address will be released to this member. This is the only case in which your personal information will be available to anyone other than Audiogon and you.  We will not release this information to any other parties, unless required by applicable laws.  Commercial users: please see the Terms of Use for Commercial Users, which describes how Audiogon will display your information.

Law enforcement
Audiogon does cooperate with law enforcement inquiries, as well as other third parties to enforce laws, including but not limited to: intellectual property rights, fraud and other rights. We may (and you authorize us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is illegal or may expose us or you to legal liability.

Email contacts
Audiogon as a policy does not "sell" email addresses to any third parties.
Your email address is not displayed anywhere on the site.  If someone wishes to contact you (or you wish to contact another member), the initial communication is via email, through the Audiogon system.  The receiver of the initial contact will be given the email address of the sender.  Unless the receiver actually responds to the initial contact, the sender will not have the email address of the receiver.  The emails are forwarded from Audiogon systems, but they are not viewed, except by the sender and receiver.  The system records which members were contacted and by whom, so that sellers are able to see previous contacts for their ads. Audiogon assumes no responsibility for lost or misdirected emails, nor do we store emails for later retrieval.

Disclosure of Information.
Due to the current laws of the USA, we cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. By way of example (without limiting the foregoing), we may be forced to disclose information to the government or third parties under certain circumstances, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications, or users may abuse or misuse your information that they collect from our Site. Therefore, although we use industry standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personally identifiable information or private communications will always remain private.

If you have any additional questions about Audiogon's registration process, please contact us.
