Direct management responsibility for a development, operations and QA department of 20-40 staff members chartered with developing and implementing IBM host based custom and “template-based” consumer credit solutions.   Day-to-day management activities include: budget establishment and review, senior management status/progress reporting, employee performance assessments, cost containment, establishment of departmental process/procedures and monitoring of project deliverables.

·         Analyze production processes for streamlining opportunities and recommend implementation strategies.

·         Collaborated with sales and marketing to create new products and modify existing ones to meet client demands.

·         Developed and maintained effective cross-functional relationships with other departments to ensure client needs were met.

Manager, Global Application Processing System                                          April 2000 – November 2000

 

Managed, directed and facilitated a cross-functional, organizational and processing platform (NT, OS390 and Unix) team to implement and deploy the Application Processing Platform/GAPS (Global Application Processing System) into the U.S. environment.  Significant activities involved communicating project status to senior management and coordinating/scheduling project deliverables with a multi-location/nation (U.S. – Allen/McKinney, TX, Atlanta, GA/U.K) project team.


 

Major Accomplishments:  Integrated a cross-platform delivery vehicle for application processing.  This was accomplished by leveraging Subject Matter Experts from various areas of the organization (e.g. Product Management, Application Development, Quality Assurance, Network, Security and Compliance).

 

Manager, Electronic Commerce Development                                                         January 2000 – April 2000

 

Staffed, budgeted and directed a team of senior Electronic Commerce developers implementing custom and generic web based and business-to-business solutions.  Implemented components were developed in Java and C++ utilizing OOAD (Object Orientated Analysis and Design) design methodologies with interfaces in HTTP, XML, RMI, EJB and Servlet.  The application software was designed to execute on client or server side environments.

 

Major Accomplishments:  Recruited and assembled an expert team that was responsible for the creation of an organizational-wide Java/XML deployment standard.

 

Manager, Infrastructure Development and Projects                                                May 1997 – January 2000

 

Staffed, budgeted and lead a team of senior technical consultants for Tandem based infrastructure initiatives.

 

Major Accomplishments:  Completion of Y2K certification ahead of schedule and under budget (70 application sub-systems 1.5M lines of source code).  Facilitated and lead the designer and implementation of a common software component architecture based in C, C++ and COBOL85 programming languages.  This framework enabled a RAD (Rapid Application Development) environment that reduced implementation durations from months to days/weeks.

 

Lead Application Architect                                                                                        1991 – May 1997

 

Designed, documented, developed, implemented and supported Tandem based functions and or systems.

 

Major Accomplishments:  Senior application architect for distributed applications.  Developed and implemented SQL based information repositories.  Developed and implemented a message based scheduling process (monitor) for running batch processes within a TP monitoring environment.  Designed and developed the following common software components utilizing procedure calls that could be bound into applications or act as “standalone” components: Unique sequence number assignment function, Accounting Calendar Date function, Waited and No-waited IO functions, Measure, Tokenized event generation and command and control using Tandems’ DSM (EMS and SPI) principals, Generic Inquiry Formatter, Spooler data fax or print extraction process and a Generic File IO sub component.  Provided twenty-four hour application level support for fifty plus standard and custom credit applications and RMS (Data Designs’ - Revision Management System).
